Pelle reveals Arnie’s current attitude

Marko Arnautovic is likely to play second fiddle to Chicharito again tomorrow (Sat) but it’s a fate he understands and accepts.

Manuel Pellegrini has spoken specifically about the striker’s position to reporters and again dropped a heavy hint the Austrian will be on the bench when the action starts in Cardiff.

Despite his difficult circumstances, the 29 year old is apparently taking the position philosophically and creating no waves whatsoever around the club as a result.

The manager told reporters:“Marko is not playing, but he is also a player we need for our starting eleven.

“Marko is absolutely involved in his commitment, he understands that maybe this is what happened with his China move, also his injury, he is not starting in this moment but he must make the difference.

“He is an important player for us. “

These are good words to hear in circumstances where the player has slipped considerably in the fans’ favour as it shows a professionalism we would hope and expect.

With the team winning games he is not going to find it an easy call to slip straight back in and that’s as it should be with any player.

The difference between last season when the man became our relegation avoiding hero could not be greater for this year we have a vastly improved squad and nobody’s place is a given.

But with the boss explaining how Marko is approaching life it’s a thumbs up from me!

  1. This is great news. It shows we have a boss who the players respect and he has the final say. I am excited to continue to see how MP molds the team and moves them forward

  2. No disrespect to Chico but Arnie is more of a threat up front. For the team I hope Chico starts scoring plenty as confidence is a great thing . We need a win today I want to see every player on it from the start COYI ⚒

  3. Guys this might be good to hear from MP regarding discipline but its also BS Annie is petulant as is shown when he does come on and doesn’t get passed to. and this is also rumoured in the dressing room, still moaning and *****ing and mark my words he will be sold in the summer.

  4. The moaning Austrian’ll never change his ways, and all we’re seeing from Pellegrini is a classic damage-limitation exercise, so as not to lower his eventual Summer sale price. Good Riddance I say, let’s just sell the disruptive one and buy a forward who actually wants to play for this club, and not just for a season and half before the antics begin. COYI
