Pellegrini admits he could be out of work by Monday

|

Manuel Pellegrini has opened up on his future and admitted he may not be  out of his job by Monday!

And he has listened to every bit of criticism directed at him over the last few weeks explaining: ” I accept it. I have never not accepted criticism.”

But he added: I always say from the beginning that I came here to try to improve with a team to try to play another way that to the way that West Ham had played in all the other seasons. ”

Speaking to reporters he declared:  “What I really need is to win the game (against Southampton) but maybe I’m not in my job on Monday. That’s not a problem of the job.

The problem is to try to improve what you’re doing because we don’t have the results and of course for many years in this profession having just five points from this many games is not good enough.

I cannot expect not to be criticised in this moment as a manager but you must  trust more than ever,  what you have done in your whole career before you. Everyone has bad moments. ”

He explained: Nobody is happy and nobody can be happy. We’ve spent money – all the other teams have spent money as Fulham did last season and they were relegated. Aston Villa have done it this season and they are in the same position.

Every team in the Premier League must spend money because it’s a very competitive league because the value of the players every day is higher. So I think that we did it the correct way. We are in a bad moment as not all the other teams but a lot of teams… Burnley, Wolverhampton at the beginning, Bournemouth, Chelsea at the beginning, Arsenal, Tottenham.

“It’s a difficult league where the difference is very little between one player and the other one. I repeat it’s not normal to have five points from 13 and very bad results.

That’s why I know that the owner trusts what we are doing because another owner maybe you have been sacked before and we know what football is and we are trying to get results.”
