Pellegrini could dip into loan market

Manuel Pellegrini could dip into the loan market before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.

We are told that Pellegrini is not a big fan of loans preferring instead to invest in permanent transfers but we understand he could consider loans after failing to land a number of defensive midfield targets.

One name that keeps on cropping up is Stefano Sturaro, the 25 year old has been on the fringes of the Juventus squad over recent seasons, making just seven starts in Serie A last term. Juventus want around £18million but the Hammers want to see if they tempt the Italian giants with a loan offer with an option to buy.

Another new name in mix is Ignacio Camacho from VfL Wolfsburg. The academy graduate at Atlético Madrid made his senior debut at the age of 17 before being sold to Malaga in 2011 where he played under Pellegrini. He left Malaga in 2017 for the German club for £9m. West Ham have reportedly inquired about a loan deal but Woldsburg are only interested in selling their defensive midfielder at a profit.

  1. Hold it.. Loans are fine but we need to improve on what we have. Stay clear of signing players like Stuaro and Gomes from Barcelona. Have you looked at their fans websites, they would love to get rid of them for nothing in particular Stuaro. These two would add nothing to the current squad and cost a lot of money. We need 3 quality signings, I have to say Bernard as a 10, Gomes from Celta a super 9, and a defensive mid like the lad from lille. Get these 3 and we are in serious business. Bringing in crap on loan will only undo the business we have done so far.

  2. abit strange we let Kouyate go & not having a player in place to bring in straight away but still 6 days to go in window & as we ain’t heard don’t go to bed yet from dg things could still happen

  3. I think the replacement was allways going to be declen rice

  4. Thiago Maia pls, if Pelle knows the lad from Malaga maybe give him a shot ? Sturaro would be ok but you do wonder whether he has the technical ability to play free flowing football he is much more a pure defensive midfielder from what I have seen.

  5. We have to free up squad places to sign more players. Perhaps that’s why Chiek was allowed to go. We can’t just keep signing players willy nilly. 2 of the 3 mentioned come to 50 mill. The other wants a big signing fee and 200k pw. Plus agents fees etc. Where will this money suddenly appear from?
