Pellegrini desperate to escape worst case scenario

|

Manuel Pellegrini wants the lads to move heaven and earth to finish in the top ten at the weekend.

Finishing outside of it was worst case scenario when the new manager arrived and was handed £100 million for new players.

And although he has been hit by injuries during the course of the season it would be a big disappointment if the club didn’t manage it.

The manager has claimed that he is thrilled to be back in the Premier League and has declared how seriously important it is to win at Watford at the weekend.

After setting his sights on the Europa League for most of the season it would be a bitter blow were he to fail in achieving his final aim of the season.

Were we to beat Watford and Leicester were defeated by Chelsea we could end the season in ninth place so there is hardly any room for experimentation this weekend with the boss set to name his strongest team.

Speaking to www.whufc.com on a top ten finish he said: “It’s very important.

“I have enjoyed my first season here very much. I came to a big club and the Premier League is the best in the world so to return here, I am happy.

“But I also want to do better. This is my first time in Europe that I have not qualified for European competitions so I hope next season we will do it.

“Realistically, when you have 60,000 people behind you, this is a big club.

“Maybe you cannot compete with other clubs with money, but there are other ways to reduce the distance.

“We must try to fight and be as high up the table as we can.”

Fingers crossed we can get a result, I will be there, hopefully whatever Watford turn up we play with the same intensity we have shown the last month and turn them over, good luck to them in the FA Cup after that !!
