Pellegrini in support of VAR

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has backed the introduction of VAR in the Premier League saying it makes it is more fair now.

Pellegrini told reporters assembled at Rush Green this afternoon “The fans must wait for the call, but I think it is more fair now. It is impossible for the referee with the speed that the players play, and then you can compare the ref with eight tv screens, it will be better for them. As long as we don’t use it in every situation, such as corners, you can find for penalties. But for offsides, it is good for the referee. For fouls in or out of the box, handball or not handball”

VAR has come in for heavy criticism from supporters saying it ruins the flow of the game, reduces the intensity of crowd goal celebrations and is too precise in decisions that it removes some of the magic of the game.
