Pellegrini power to the fore as he starts to demand

|
Manuel Pellegrini can welcome Lucas Perez back to the squad for the game against Watford but apart from that it’s as you were!
However, he will be better positioned next week when he believes Marko Arnautovic will have rejoined the squad and could be available for the games against Southampton and or Burnley.
The manager’s attitude appears to be changing by the day as he becomes more firmly entrenched in the job and results begin to flow.
There’s a new firmness about him as he makes his points briefly but with great impact at the pre-match pressers explaining very clearly how he approaches the big job he has taken on at our club.
Previously there was a persuasive tone as he found his way into the job but now he is very much the man in charge making it clear what his demands are as the team reaches for the top spots.
Addressing reporters at the press conference  ahead of the Watford game earlier he declared: “I demand performances from the players. It’s easy for a player to just be playing for playing, but we need players with an ambitious mentality.”

And he added: “I think(Marko) will be  back next week, he will be back working with the team. When you don’t have those players, you have a squad.
I am happy with the options I’ve had without Marko. I’m not happy with Marko’s injury but I’m happy with my squad.
“I always say that December is a key month for any team. We need to play so many games – seven in December – that this could be the part of the year that decides a team’s future. We’ve started well in December but we’re missing players.”
