Pellegrini ready for home comforts

Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that only one result will keep him happy on Saturday – our second win in three games.

The game has added significance with the Premier League heading into an international break and seven points on the board would put us in good shape on the resumption against Villa in the midlands.

Pellegrini only has one way of playing and with both teams scoring and conceding goals for fun this season a high scoring affair could be on the cards.

With three games behind them, the Irons have let in six and scored four whilst the Canaries have conceded eight finding the net six times.

But given succesive wins against Watford away from home and Newport in the Carabao Cup, the manager – like the rest of us – want to see the lads turn in their first London Stadium win of the season.

Having made ten changes to the team in Wales on Tuesday we can expect to see the boss return to the usual line up for a game which, apart from any injuries,  has the potential of keeping us well entertained.

And discussing the game the manager said at at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/august/29-august/pellegrini-haller-pukki-and-importance-home-win: “Confidence is high , especially after we had to play three games away in a row. We won two of them and the other was a draw.

That gives us more confidence in what we’re doing. Now we must return here, at home, and try to get three points.

I always say to the players before a game that we must demonstrate from the first minute that we are coming for the three points.

You know when they believe, and they reflect it in a way. I think that not only the result, but also the way that we won these games, gave them a lot of trust.

For me the most important thing to me is to get three points in every game that you play. If you see the statistics of every team, they must be stronger at home.

We are having good results away, but if we are to start the season with good results, we must be a strong team at home.”

  1. Our squad has depth, but Antonio coming on in the last 20/30 mins will scare a lot of defense’s. Problem could be not a Christmas return because the mental attitude needs to be right. We all know what happened last time.

  2. I have watched Norwich they look good offensively so they are no pushovers . We need to be on it again from the start and give 100% in every game and take no team for granted . This is where we need consistency don’t make the same errors as last season . Defence still needs a little work but we will get it right . I have a lot of trust in the manager and team to be on it and win this one be nice at home . COYI ⚒
