Pellegrini under attack

Bitter disappointment is being  spewed out like a torrent as the Irons fans come to terms with a third bad defeat in four games.

It opens up all sort of issues and one West Ham supporter and ClaretandHugh follower has made it pretty clear that the buck stop with the manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The Oxford United defeat followed by last week’s and today’s poses many questions abut attitude and approach – questions which only Manuel Pellegrini can answer.

This is now crucial given that he has often said this is the squad he wanted and that – on his arrival he will not fail at West Ham United.

This is how one CandH follower-Terry Moffatt – summed up his and no doubt the feelings of many:

“Does anyone agree with me that all the praise for Pelle is misplaced,as the gutless performances against The Wombles and Oxford showed.

“This should be an indictment on his material expertise and be called he should be called to task
Him spending £65m on Anderson and Fornals should be questioned not to mention the hopeless Roberto who is an inadequate deputy for Fab.”

And another – 4FF – sent into the attack declaring: “For the umpteenth time, he sets the tactics and, as good at settling the club Noble claims he is, his tactics are totally one-dimensional, transparent and easy to nullify.

“The most lightweight midfield ever assembled and suited for exhibition football, at best. Again, we should get the best BRITISH coach available and preferably one who is not already out to grass.

Worst performance since………….2 weeks ago!

  1. What a great appraisal of a team and management that should be ashamed, no strength at all let alone in depth , next week if we put such a lacklustre performance in we will be over run again, pls dont get me started on the GK really …………..
    ……. .

  2. Personally I’m getting sick of this. Brighton were poor, Villa were poor, Palace were poor, Everton were poor. Just 4 reasons why we wont be finishing in the top 8 this season. Top half if we’re lucky.

    • Everton weren’t poor, they bossed the game from start to finish.

    • What you on about palace also completely outplayed us

    • your grammar is so poor that people misunderstand what you wrote. like Pellegrini, your teacher has some questions to answer.

however, i do agree with what you were trying to say. Jimenez is not Fabianski but he made 2 or 3 excellent saves to prevent it be 4 or 5 nil. he is NOT the scapegoat

  3. Totally agree. Was watching in the pub and normally shouting at the screen but they were so poor today I couldn’t even get angry…from Roberto who looks shaky at best to the weak Anderson and lanzini the slow noble and rice having to cover the work of two men… Feel sorry for haller up top on his own and fornals 27 million wow!!pellegrini puts the team together so buck stops with him….

  4. Time we changed formation. I want to see two up front. Haller needs help and he ain’t getting any from the midfield. I would give Pelle until Xmas. If the results are still the same then sorry he needs to go. I would give Eddie Howe a chance.

  5. Totally agree we were a disgrace again ?too many players on big bucks
I’d dock there wages for every bad performance if I was no

  6. Me and the mrs endured that today from the upper tier at goodison today and really wish we where not in position to get the good view of a dreadful performance . Is PM the cause ? Tactics… yes team selection …yes the application on the pitch … no all bar maybe 4 players . The rest went missing today and that is there fault not the managers. I agree the first goal was a bad one for the keeper but he also produced some great saves to prevent us being totally embarrassed. It’s too early to start the panic let’s see what saturday brings ( maybe my deisel money for today’s 400 mile round trip lol )

  7. Pellegrini is poor full stop the problems we experienced today are the same we experienced under Billic and Moyes and for that matter Allardyce. We re too slow moving the ball forward and have no idea how to defend as a team. We lose it upfront, all too often, and in the blink of an eye our defence is under pressure while our ‘exciting attacking line up’ look on.
We had this problem whey Payet was at the club but he held onto the ball better.
Get Pellegrini out now, get Eddie Howe, give him the next 2 months to identify weaknesses so that come January he can start addressing the issues the previous 4 managers haven’t. In the meantime go for 3 at the back, 2 wing backs with 3 across the middle with Haller and Yarmolenko up front.

  8. Would have left the overpaid so called footballers in Liverpool ans sent coach back empty, not one of them players gave 100% today. Haller crying out for a strike partner, remember when we had Frank ie and Tony, funny we finished 3rd that year. Masuku is pants at defending, everyone in the world knows that, play him on the wing and he is effective, Rice getting found out, too much Hype, Somethings not right with Lanzi, Anderson one trick pony. Fornalis needs to go in the U23 and gets some confidence.

  10. Also the players should have money deducted from their wages and paid to our fans that travelled up there today, if those players showed half the commitment us fans give we may have a chance. COYI

  11. Pellegrini’s lucky I’m not the owner of the club – I’d sack him tonight. Consistency and commitment are zero and that’s his responsibility. Better than Moyes – hardly. Haller his best signing and he plays up front on his own. So much for new attacking style. Allardyce did that and we slagged him off. He must wonder what he’s let himself in for and will be gone next year. Today another totally unacceptable performance. Wilshere and Snodgrass past their sell-by and so is Pelle. Anderson and Lanzini both overrated. James Maddison would be better on his own. As for Fornals – why? I agree with what so many say – Eddie Howe. A bigger club will take a punt on him one day, I just pray its us.

  12. Roberto spent a season with Benfica when he was younger and he was considered very unreliable, letting in many “soft” goals. He never did particularly well with any of his other clubs. Is this the best we can do when looking for a #2 keeper? What kind of scouts do we have?

With the amount of money we have spent on players we should be competing each year for a spot in Europe. Instead, unless something changes drastically, this could be a very long and painful season.

Pellegrini offers nothing but excuses. We need a playing philosophy such as that provided by Simeone at At. Madrid or Klopp at Liverpool. We have a soft team that offers beautiful ballet when we need raiding pirates. When we are winning, we can’t often finish the opponent off. When we are losing, we often don’t have that extra gear to react.

The fundamental problem is that the owners and senior management understand little about football. This team is a reflection of that.

  13. Sorry to say the buck stops firmly with Pelle.Seems to have lost the plot.Playing too many horribly out of form players.Sending Diangana to West Brom was criminal and surely Coventry and Scully deserve a place on the bench at least. The difference between the U23s and this lot in attitude is vast at the moment.

  14. Today was **** poor bar 2/3 players that actually showed up but all these hysterical people in the comments need to calm down. Yes we lost and the manner in which we lost was abysmal but if we had beat palace and were sitting third before this game im sure there wouldnt be calls for MP to get sacked And sell half the squad off for not being good enough. 2/3 losses and were crap and 2/3 wins means were on top of the world?…. give me a break lol ….

  15. What makes you think that Eddie Howe would even contemplate amove to.West Ham if he wanted a “bigger club”than Bournemouth he would have made it clear and he would have been somewhere else by now!!

  16. So this next level football we were promised after leaving our spiritual home … when is that going to happen ?
