Pellegrini wage: THE FACTS

|

Many reports have surfaced about the amount of money that Manuel Pellegrini will be earning ranging at West Ham with figures of between £5m to £10m being quoted

So to put this to bed in CandH terms here’s what we understand to be the case:

O He is on a basic of £8 million

O Depending on finishing positions or winning a Cup that could rise to AROUND £10 million

O and were he to win the League and Champions League it would hit £16 million.

In our original wages story we approximated an average he was likely to be receiving and said “about £10 million” but given the ongoing debate in the media and on here we thought it best to bring a little more detail.

The idea that he would join the club for £5 million – as suggested by some media sources – having been on £16 million net in China,  are a little ludicrous to put it mildly.

In fact, what he earns or doesn’t earn should be an irrelevancy so long as he brings us trophies but for the record that’s the score.

  • Sky News reported his basic as £5 million. I don’t wanna judge em but they get more wrong than right Clive

  • Clive says:

They reported his transfer budget as around 40 million on sky sports news between 8 and 9 this morning. I think it needs to be at least twice that. I will be disappointed if the board spend anything less. I agree with Tony Gale who has said pellegrinis war chest needs to be 75 to 100 million.

I hope Sky are wrong with regard to this amount Clive.
Seeing as we made £40-odd mill profit last year I would expect the Daves to stump up and provide our Chilean saviour with at least double that. God knows the squad needs that sort of investment, if not more imo.

They have done a good job to get him in so quick; it would have been a nightmare otherwise. His wages are not the important thing, but the budget is. I still think £80 will be the amount because Sullivan would not give away our upper limit ( as in £60 million ) to prospective sellers.
To play the open attacking game he would like to play, his priority must be to fix the defense. No team can play open attacking football without a cast iron defense. I’m sure he won’t subscribe to that ” scoring 1 more than the opposition” claptrap, because he won’t want to be relegated. ( I hope ). That will be the real key. Can he bring in the right defenders to stop us shipping goals.

Thanks for taking the time to clarify. I don’t bother with any other sites these days when it comes to WH news – I know that you guys won’t claim anything specific on here unless it’s total fact, or as close as can be expected from reputable sources. Keep up the good work and the integrity, and avoid becoming another desperate click-baiting site.
