Pellegrini waits as Irons take shape for Newcastle

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is likely to leave Andy Carroll on the bench even should Marko Arnautovic fail to make Saturday’s starting line-up against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Arenie is believed to be suffering from a knock affecting his hip although there’s a lot of confidence within the backroom team he will recover in time for the game.

Carroll is still not sufficiently match fit to be included from the start and in the possible absence of the Austrian the line leading role is likely to be handed to Chicharito with Micahil Antonio alongside him.

It also seems likely that Arthur Masuaku will be left out of the squad after his involvement in a couple of soft goals against Manchester City before being hooked at half time.

The only final selection issue may be whether captain Mark Noble returns to the side having missed last Saturday’s game despite having completed his his three match ban

With no further injuries beyond a possible problem with Marko the boss has plenty of selection options although Jack Wilshere is likely to feature.

Possible Irons team: Fabianski, Zabaleta, Diop, Balbuena, Cresswell; Noble, Rice, Obiang, Anderson, Antonio, Chicharito/Arnautovic
