Pellegrini’s bold prediction

Manager Manuel Pellegrini has made a bold prediction on the likely outcome of the Irons season and it is one that no doubt will cause plenty of debate among the fans.

For despite the injuries and inconsistent form the boss believes we will be in a better position when the season ends than we are now.

Speaking on www.whufc.com he says: “At the end of the season this team will be in a better position that it is at the moment and we will always think with a winning mentality to get as high in the table as we can.”

His confidence is admirable just as it was when he said we would emerge from the shocking start without being able to say when.

However, with a run of winnable games in front, if you forget the arrival of Manchester City, before the end of the year we could be on our way towards a morale boosting period which will prove him right again.

With points taken from the last three games home and away there’s room for optimism. However there are no givens with Newcastle away not looking quite so hopeful  with the Geordies improving form over the last couple of games with Burnley to come this evening.

And if we are going to get anything up there we will need to produce a performance more like that at Leicester City than Huddersfield Town.

After that come the likes of Cardiff, Palace, Fulham, Watford, Southampton and Burnley when all things are possible.
