Pellegrino to face the Special one

Spurs have confirmed that Jose Mourinho has been appointed Tottenham manager, succeeding Mauricio Pochettino who was sacked on Tuesday. The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Mourinho has signed a contract with the North London club until the end of the 2022-23 season.

According to Transfermrket.co.uk Mourinho has taken West Ham as a manager 16 times, winning 11, drawing three and losing just two games.

Pellegrini has a rivalry with Mourinho that dates back to when Mourinho succeeded him at Real Madrid.

He once nicknamed the 66-year-old as Mr. Pellegrino, a nickname he continues to use. Mourinho was happy to fire snide barbs at his predecessor, saying “If they [Real] get rid of me, I will go to a big club in the Premier League or Serie A,” when Pellegrini went to Malaga.

Their war words continued in the Premier League while Pellegrini managed Manchester City and Mourinho managed Chelsea. We can expect more ward of words and mind games from the Special one anytime soon.

  1. Surprised at the Spuds – could be a major personality clash here – are there two people in football history with bigger egos than Levy and Mourinho ??

  2. Spurs sacking the best coach/manager they’ve had in decades and employ Mourinho ….. Xmas has come early!!!!

  3. How about Poch at the London Stadium?
Better bet than Pelle to turn things around

  4. I’m looking forward to hearing the chant “your getting sacked in the morning” when we go 3-0 up!

  5. The special one may be good at verbal abuse but has he lost his touch when it comes to the premier league ? He did not do very well at United & he seemed to be a bit lost before Chelski sacked him, let’s hope he does not regain his expertise until after Saturday.

  6. Pretty pathetic that most of the blogs are pinning our hopes on winning with spuds upheaval in management and hoping they don’t t play well ..my God look how far we have come….how sad and pathetic that is …if I’m honest I can’t see us getting anything from the game apart from a hammering and IMO until we change something it will be like that most weeks….personally I would get rid of m.p and get potch in ..he won’t be out of work long
