Perkins finds new club

Sonny Perkins is set to join Leeds.

The youngster left the Hammers after snubbing contract offers, with the Irons trying to convince him to stay.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that the 18-year-old is now poised to put pen to paper at Elland Road.

Perkins has signed his contract and undergone his medical, leaving just the announcement needed from the Irons’ Premier League rivals.

While Perkins is technically a free agent, Leeds will have to pay compensation to the Irons due to the player’s age.

He struggled to make a first-team breakthrough with the Hammers but was a fixture for both the U23s and the U18s.

The versatile teenager, who can play up front or in a number of midfield positions, scored 10 goals in 22 games for the U23s and netted nine goals in 31 games for the U18s.

He made a total of three first-team appearances, playing twice in the Europa League last season and once in the Premier League.

  1. He struggled to make his first team debut???

How many 18-year-old strikers in the Premier League have done that?

He is NOT a Wayne Rooney or even Michael Owen…… Just another youngster with an agenda and an inflated opinion of himself.

  2. btw….. why weren’t the spuds interested in signing the new Harry Kane?

Most Academys would take a dim view of a jumped-up youngster like him attempting to call the shots.
    Good riddance, I say.
