Peters defends Allardyce against booers

petersWest Ham’s World Cup winner  Martin Peters doesn’t get those who booed Sam Allardyce after a vital victory.

This is the story that simply refuses to go away but Peters is confused about the dissent from fan sections.

he said: “I think Sam has done a good job. He has got us up from the Championship. He is doing a good job and I think that West Ham should stick with him.

“He really wants West Ham to survive and do well. I support him. He took us up. I will always back him.”

He said: “When I heard the booing I thought it was their supporters booing their team,” he said.

“West Ham won, which was brilliant. I don’t know why West Ham supporters were booing their team. That was absolutely ridiculous.

“They won the game and it is important they win games. They have some tough games coming up – Sunderland away, Liverpool at home and then at the end of the season we have Tottenham at home and Manchester City away so we need to support them as best as we possibly can.”
