Phillips update

Kalvin Phillips’ loan move to West Ham is set to be confirmed in the next 24 hours, possibly as soon as today according to the BBC.

Phillips will be on his way from Manchester City to join a club which continues to make appeal to big name players. West Ham is definitely a club on its way in that area. He is understood to be undergoing his medical.

Having been told he can leave the Etihad, having failed to force his way into Pep Guardiola’s plans since his £45m move from Leeds 18 months ago, he has rejected Newcastle and European clubs interested in him for the Irons.

Whilst the club claims details of any clause to make the deal permanent are confidential, they will  be in a good position to make that the case should there be one involved..

Phillips has started just two Premier League games during his time at City.

The England international has made 31 appearances in all competitions but has played only twice since his substitute appearance against Young Boys on 7 December.
