Sky TV seems to be everywhere these days, and their Swiss version is now suggesting that Mohammed Kudus is “looking for an exit from West Ham.”

As exclusives go, it’s hardly ground-breaking news, but the report that the Hammers’ Ghanaian winger is aiming to play at a higher level than West Ham is heart-breaking.

I will never fully understand why West Ham didn’t take a gamble on player recruitment during the last January transfer window. The loss of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals, and Thilo Kehrer left the squad painfully thin and ill-equipped for a dual-pronged attack on both European and domestic football.

The immediate result was the season fizzling out with a whimper, but the bigger long-term effect is that players like Kudus now want to leave. Because, if we’re honest, the former Ajax man only joined the Hammers for European football. Whilst he might have accepted one season without it, two is too many.

Even the most optimistic West Ham supporter would admit that Julen Lopetegui is ill-equipped to turn the team around this season. So, all we can really do is secure the best possible fee for Kudus.

While it might not be breaking news that Kudus wants out, it certainly feels inevitable.

  • Richard Kane says:

The reality is he wants to play for better fans, and it’s the same feelings that Scamacca had, and a large portion of our squad who consider west ham fans to be the worst in the premier league – and we are!

    • Robert Schmidt says:

Oh, for sure. The West Ham fans are the reason our players want to leave.

Richard Kane, more like David Sullivan.

      GTFO scumbag!

  • Brendan says:

If WH were a stock it would have a “Do not Buy” advisory on it due to lack of knowledge of the industry for the directors.

  • What? says:

This has come from one Sky journalist in Switzerland? Sacha Tavolieri and it’s pure speculation. Everyone reports on it as if it’s fact.

  • Truth says:

Soon as we get rid of these non team players the better it will be for the team.

  • Annette Markham says:

I cant say i would blame any of them for wanting to leave this season since Stiendten has had full reign Only Moyes seemed to know what to expect with him and it appears he was right whether you like him or not he knew Steindten is NO GOOD for WHU

    • Robert says:

Wrong. His name is Steidten. He is the only one worth keeping among the owner, board and manager. Even Moyes would agree.

      That is all.

      • Matt says:

Well said 👏 Ignore Annette as it’s probably just Brady using a fake name. Delusional if she can’t see Moyes left us with an ageing squad. It was Moyes who signed so many players that were not good enough – Zouma, Vlasic, Haller, Scamacca, JWP to name just a few

        • Robert says:

          Fanks Matt!!!

I’ve noticed more often than not we operate on the same wavelength.

How do you feel about a 100% BOYCOTT of all things David Sullivan and crew?

          • Matt says:

I am already refusing to go to watch West Hsm under JLo. It was bad enough last season under Moyes.

Until Sully appoints an ambitious coach that is aligned with Tim I’m staying away.

  • Phil Baker says:

The fox turd has better tactics than LOSEpetegui . Kudus has mentally disintegrated under LOSEpetegui and will leave Paqueta , Alvarez and Todibo with leave at the drop of a hat , then add in Antonio , Ings , Coufal , Cresswell , Emerson , Soler , Rodriguez , Areola , Fabianski and even Summerville all soon out of contract/loan or tired of the BS of dealing with chumps running/coaching the club . LOSEpetegui must be sacked now so that a new competent coach has a chance of winning those 5 easier games after Newcastle and Arsenal . LOSEpetegui until New Year means no chance of Euro football or keeping any of the above players as well as quality recruitment . The next one and a half months will define the next few years for Westham .

  • Robert says:

If West Ham are to survive, the cancer that is killing them must be erradicated. That will only be completed through drastic and serious activity. That activity is a willfull and disciplined destruction of the current ownership through BOYCOTT!!!

    That is all.

    • Matt says:

I’m already boycotting going until Sully gets us a manager we can believe in!

Let Tim hire the next coach!

      • Robert says:

Well done Matt on your personal boycott, bravo!

We need a tidalwave of momentum to grow this BOYCOTT to hasten the development that will ensure future prosperity.

        NEW OWNERSHIP!!!!!

        That is all.

  • Taffyhammer says:

Said Benrahma moving on was never going to be a loss. We need a team not a bunch of individuals. Craig Dawson has been our biggest miss.
    COYI

  • David Moyes says:

You can’t blame any player to want to go and better themselves.
The sadness is they all should be able to fulfill there career aspirations at West Ham but as long as we are run like a Mickey Mouse club by Sullivan it’s never going to happen.
Good luck to any of the players that want to better themselves,I was always of the opinion that playing for West Ham is an honour, that you’d bleed for the badge, the fans and the everything about our great club but sadly the harsh reality is players particularly foreighn players are just at our club for a payday untill the next big thing comes along.
So cheers for that Sullivan by going cheap as usual by replacing one boring dullard Manager with an equally probably more inept version but Spanish,if you’d put yer hand in yer pocket in the first place and got the right man in at the start we wouldn’t be in this position of players angling a way out through there agents,in fact you’d probably be in position where players would be looking to join our club ,so cheers Sullivan yet again you manage to turn us to shi# as usual.
Can’t wait for the day when a serious buyer comes in and takes over and fully realises the potential of our sleeping giant club.
Never gonna happen in my lifetime but I can dream, just like our song though they fade and die.

  • mark wiggins says:

If you play in a team where a manager does not have a clue , no tactics , no vision and does not develop players what would you do . Sullivan should admit his mistake and sack J-Lo . If we get a more positive coach who can motivate players we might just end up in a position of getting into Europe , this may help retain players . The current football is so boring , just not good enough !

    • Confused 🤔 says:

It seems none of all the past managers never had a clue either and apparently the last one, David Moyes the only one that brought success to the club in over forty years was crap as well
I think that most people have now reached the conclusion, that West Ham is becoming the football poison chalice of the Premier League.

  • Ryan says:

Someone said it beautifully somewhere yesterday. We’re so used to this crap now that I don’t even care. I think Bowen is the only one that would bother me now if they was to leave

  • Dipseadiver says:

It’s just so tragic and all unravelling.. we really were on the cusp of ‘the next level’ … exciting players , big capacity stadium but firstly Moyes couldn’t see how to expand as a club , and now we have this nugget in charge it’s all slipping away .
It’s not just the results that’s so disappointing but the tactical naivety and it proves that it’s all about the coach ( we have the players ) . So we desperately need to recruit the right coaching team asap with a plan in mind otherwise just say goodbye to our best half a dozen players and all hope !

    • Matt says:

Moyes took us as far as he could. Shame that he didn’t leave on a high after winning the 🏆

We genuinely had a chance if we appointed a dynamic coach aligned with Tim.

Unfortunately Sully is as clueless as JLo.

  • Bennyboy baker says:

It should be no surprise that kudus is looking to leave why would he want to be part of a team that is looking at fighting to stay in the premiership while championship football next season is a real possibility it won’t be long before other of our best players will be looking to leave and JL is the reason why along with Sullivan not being able that he made a mistake with JL most clubs would have got rid of him by now to stand any chance to turn this season around JL has got to go

  • Matt says:

Until we become a Champions League club 🤣 we will never keep top talent.

We knew Kudus was only going to stay 2 years which is why we inserted his release clause.

  • John simmonds says:

Can’t blame him can you. Who’d want to stay there working for a manager who can’t manage and an owner who treats the club like his Plaything ( or market stall) not to mention Lady Brady

  • Morty says:

It’s always hard to buy decent players in the January window, but I think part of the reason for our inactivity was that Moyes was sulking after receiving his new contract offer. Why Sullivan couldn’t have stuck to his “discuss new contracts at the end of the season” usual plan I’ll never know

    • Matt says:

Totally agree it’s hard to buy decent players in January that’s why we ended up with Kalvin Phillips as Moyes flexed his power over Tim!

Waste of £6m loan fee and wages!

  • Mogg says:

The appointment of Lopetegui has been devastating. Not only are we going to be in a relegation scrap. We’re going to lose a lot of our best players. This manager is as useful as the fox turd I found on my driveway this morning.
