Separate sources have confirmed that a move is being orchestrated for former club captain Kurt Zouma. HITC  report that West Ham United are prepared to let him leave for a nominal fee provided the Saudi Pro League Club concerned agree to pay all of his wages.

The Hammers had apparently already offered Zouma as part of the deal to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice but the French club baulked at paying the player’s £100,000+weekly wages.

Importantly, the news source reveals that ‘A medical has already been booked’ – we are unsure quite how Zouma’s well-documented knee problems will be approached as he will surely fail a traditional medical. Talks between West Ham United and the pro-league club concerned -which  has not been revealed at this stage -are understood to be ongoing.

Whilst he only has 12 months remaining at West Ham, the new contract under discussion will be for significantly longer and therefore financially attractive to Zouma himself.

A prerequisite for bringing in Centre Back reinforcements, the sale of either Zouma or Aguerd will allow a significant upgrade to be made in what is a crucial area. Anyone watching West Ham through pre season will be under no illusions of the urgency to improve our back line.

Like everyone else, lifelong WHU fan and season ticket holder in old BMU stand at Upton Park from 2003. Billy Bonds these days with my adult son and impatiently waiting for my Grandson to be old enough to initiate him before his mum grabs him for Man U. All opinions are my own very biased ones.

Obviously can only be a nominal fee, as he’s in the last year of his contract let’s hope he doesn’t ask for a loyalty payment , haha

It would be a deliverance if someone would take him for no fee but pay his wages.

    Amen to that

Ex says we are open to let him go on a free transfer as long as they cover all his wages. Wouldn’t be a problem for Al-Qadsiah

    Is it 1st April?
Need to add a back hander for the medical team.

Listen if we can offload Zouma , they pay his wages it’s a win-win . A nominal fee would be the icing on the cake . Hope they take him and he goes .

  • elduder says:

even a loan with us covering 30% of his wages would be excellent deal

Have to admit I’ve never understood football medicals! Players pass them when they are injured!! Didn’t arsenal sign someone with a broken back?
