Player Ratings: Fulham 0-1 West Ham

|

By Gonzo

Fabianski:7 Not an awful lot to do in the first half as a result of Zouma and Ogbonna’s defending. Made an amazing save in the 82nd minute which certainly saved the win for West Ham

Coufal:7 Tried to get in advanced positions and cross where possible when he wasn’t defending.

Zouma:8 Excellent block to stop a goal-bound shot as Fulham piled on the pressure

Ogbonna:8 Positioned himself superbly to head away a barrage of crosses from the home side. Wonderful interception in the 63rd minute.

Cresswell:7 Under pressure but made some important blocks and tackles . Massive mix-up with Ogbonna almost cost us a goal. Two very good dead-ball deliveries.

Rice:7 Wonderful tackle on Willian to thwart an early Fulham attack. Was in inspired form trying to drive his team forward with snapping tackles.

Soucek:5 Tackles and blocks galore as West Ham surrendered possession and impetus to Fulham.

Bowen:6 Created West Ham’s opener by running and crossing from the touchline and forcing Reed to deflect an own goal. West Ham’s most threatening player but that’s not saying much.

Fornals:4 Instructed to protect Cresswell rather than deployed as an orthodox winger. Poor display of passing but that particular trait was not exclusive to him.

Antonio:5 Clearly back to full fitness. Not his fault that the system failed our attack.

Ings:4 Sustained a knee injury early on and hobbled around for most of the first half. Set-up by Bowen in the 55th min but couldn’t direct his shot over the keeper from close range. Precious little to work with.

Benrahma: On for Fornals. Created a rare attack when he anticipated a loose ball and shot from distance.

Downes: 59th min substitute for Danny Ings. Played well, neat & tidy.

Cornet: 89th min sub for Antonio to waste a bit of time. Wasted an absolute sitter late into injury time.

Today was a new low, 23% possession, simply puke football, without doubt if we had lost today he would have been sacked. In my opinion if the board have anything about them they would still sack him.

Top marks for all the boys. Today was all about getting the three points whatever it looked like. Every time we’ve had a must win game the players have come up trumps. Must be upsetting to hear for the anti Moyes boys to wake up to the fact but the players are definitely playing for the manager. Annoying that Chelsea are so rubbish they lost to Wolves otherwise we would have gone 12th. On the other hand Chelsea are only 9 points above us now. Maybe we can take them by the end of the season.
