PlayerWatch: Anderson really catches eye

ClaretandHugh’s PlayerWatch reporter Danny Leach watches every kick from Felipe Anderson at Palace. Here’s his report on the Brazilian

15 – Breaks on the counter attack and slips a great through ball into Snodgrass who is on goal but aims straight at the keeper

19 – He puts a sublime ball into the box for Chicharito but his shot is deflected and goes wide

33 – He dribbles from the left midfield beating McArthur and Milivojevic before passing the ball to Rice. Great foot work

36 – Cuts in on the left of midfield and plays a curled cross into the box which is just a bit too far in front for Chicharito

37 – Makes a great first touch under pressure and then drags the ball back away from the defender to then pass the ball to Noble

51 – Clears the ball away from a dangerous Zaha cross into the box

57 – Takes a poor free kick but the subsequent counter by Palace amounts to nothing

61 – Cuts in on the left hand side but slips as he attempts a through ball in the box for Snodgrass

72 – He bursts on the counter attack after West Ham defend a corner but he is brought back by Zaha in the opposite half

Verdict – 7.5It was a very solid display by Anderson in which he really put in everything to make an impact on the game. In particular in the first half he was causing havoc for Crystal Palace with some great footwork, runs, dribbles, and not to mention some brilliant chances which he managed to engineer for us. The second half was much quieter for him as West Ham were on the back foot. He should also be praised for the crucial defensive work he was always making and  he always provided cover for Cresswell. Certainly one of our best performers today.
