PlayerWatch looks at Hammer of the Year contender

|

De facto vice-captain Angelo Ogbonna came under PlayerWatch reporter Danny Leach’s spotlight tonight  at Bramall Lane. Here’s his close up look at the central defender.

15 – Beats McBurnie to win a header from a long ball by Sheffield
21 – Races up into attack and nearly gets a head on Cresswell’s cross
31 – Plays a great ball on the floor to Haller who comes deep to receive it
31 – Switches the ball across the field of play for Zabaleta but the ball goes wayward
90 – Clears the ball away from our box after Martin makes a save from close range.

Verdict – 7 – It was another good performance by Ogbonna who is becoming our main point of call in defence. He was not troubled massively today by a Sheffield United team who do not have the most potent attack. Top notch distribution from the back and great tackling and clearing when needed tonight. Mancini are you watching? Call him up for Italy! My Hammer of the year SO FAR.
