Plea to stop the hatred

Claret and Hugh Facebook admin Neil Tidd drew attention to the growing and regular Twitter hate campaign against the manager and team from the usual suspects following the slip in results saying: “I’m sick of seeing the hatered already; some of our fans are just an excuse away from causing chaos, we’re all gutted, but drop the hate.”

His post was immediately followed by another from long term CandH follower Christine Brothers who made her own strongly worded comment.

She wrote: I don’t understand. The season is not over yet. We still have two games to go . We are still in the mix for Europe . Ok it may not be Champions League ( still mathematically possible) , but what exactly is wrong with the Euros ?

It’s like turning our nose up completely at the League Cup . The owners said they would try and get us playing in Europe in 5 years . What are the Euros , Swiss Cheese ??

I think we have played brilliantly this season. What has happened to the team that fights for relegation each season . We have grown and improved , we can’t run before we can walk.

We’re tons better than we were , I love the guys to bits but we really aren’t quite up there yet . Next year we might be, and we will be able to watch.

Just grow up the lot of you haters !

  1. I’ve deleted the app for a few weeks, it never ends. I’ve always been a happy go lucky fan, win some loose some fan. This constant negativity is turning me off and I feel hammers Uniteds campaign although just imo ( what they stand for and their aim ) is the cause turning some fans seemingly off a cliff and moving away from what us as fans used to be…. social media can be a cancer… just my opinion.

  2. Look I’m disappointed but no need too go to far . At he end of the day I have loved watching the team this season . We have had a great season & no reason not to finish in the top six. Still lots to play for . COYI ⚒

  3. It’s just way to easy to spout vile hate filled nonsense online.
Until people are held to account with real punishments nothing will change.

  4. In the heat of the moment, people sometimes forget perspective and reality. I am a happy hammer fan, who is dissapointed that the starry heights of Champions League haven’t been reached this year. But… I’m a proud hammer fan right now also. This isn’t the lethargic, negative one-man team of recent times that I have watched this season, but a united squad of players who fight for each other and West Ham. To be not good enough to reach the lofty heights of the top 4 is more than okay considering our standing a year ago. It’s okay to be dissapointed, but my plea to the angry iron, is to take perspective on what has been a fantastic season. Credit to Moyes and his team, credit to the players. Long may it continue! 5. Ive stayed away from social media since the game against Brighton because I guessed it would be toxic . . .

  6. To those who have been recipients of hate mail – my sympathies
Personally I have really enjoyed our football this season – there has been an allround improvement and perhaps this little dip in form (which coincided with Declan Rice’s absence due to injury) is good to remind us that we still need to improve

To C&H – you remain my go to site and sorry for any abuse that you receive for just giving your own view

Unlike those so-called fans, I believe that the players are still focussed on teh two remaining games and know that neither will be easy (after WBA’s performance against Liverpool and Sheffield Utd’s against Everton)

  7. Delighted with that response from you guys. Well said all of you

  8. Ignore the di**heads who have no clear idea of football in the first place. Whilst the last few games have been frustrating, we need to.remember how far we have come. The owners must back Moysey during the summer break – this has been one of the best seasons in some time but it’s been clear that we’ve been lacking thst extra quality to.move closer to that top 4 finish. Full backing for Moysey and his management team along with the hard working squad numbers. Whilst I fully agree with freedom of speech, this should mever include moronic, umneducated, comments from inbred pikeys. Full backing of DM and the team is order of the day…

  9. There is no need to be negative. It’s the other way around. And don’t forget that we are fighting against the top teams that are way out of a natural league. Man City owned by a super rich country with a dictator, Man U by sleezy super capitalists, Chelski by a man who fooled Russia and stole their oil. And so on. Football is ruined, so stay calm and be proud of what our guys have achieved this year. As a team.
We don’t want to be Man City!

  10. Klopp said it. Football is the most important of the unimportant things.
It is the escape from real life that makes it so engaging. Rage at the TV. Turn it off at the end of the match.

  11. If someone had told us at the start of the campaign we would be on course for ANY spot in Europe …..

Great season and let’s hope we can finish with a flourish

  12. Some people just have no perspective, we’ve gone from relegation fodder to top 6 candidates in the space of a year.

Keep doing what you do C&H, you’ll always be the 1st site I go to when I wake up.
