Pellegrini’s refusal to rule out an exit for Declan Rice has created the normal speculation although it should be said that there is currently no bid and Rice is happy to remain a Hammer.
Pellegrini told reporters when asked about Rice exit rumours “It’s impossible, I cannot know the future, he is, of course, a player who has had a brilliant season, who is 20 years old and an English player who has a lot of qualities.
“Maybe some of the big teams, or all of them, will want him. But that is one thing – the other is whether he will stay here or he goes, and I cannot say at this moment.”
Back in March Pellegrini said “You never want to sell your good players but you understand that in some clubs, always there will be a deal, If the players want to go, if the deal is very good for the player, if the deal is very good for this club and he can continue growing, it’s very difficult for you to keep the player.
We, of course, know in reality that every player has a price so today we ask you to name your price for Declan!
Voted 100m. But the answer would be not at any price if the money wasn’t invested back in the team.
All money from outbound sales would be available for transfers
I think that Pelle is correct – every player has his price – Man Utd sold Ronaldo and Spurs sold Bale etc
However whatever price we would get I think that we would be worse off as a team if we sold Declan now
