  1. Five potentially good signings so far!
We have seemed to have done our homework this year, identified the areas of weakness and set out our transfer policy accordingly.

However, although much good work has already been done IMO there is still much to do! For although we have strengthened in some there are still other areas crying out for attention.and there lies the problem.

With the signing of Valencia we must be perilously close to our reported £20mil budget. Which is a worry as I believe we still need another striker(Vaz te and cole are dead wood) and our midfield is crying out for a creative attacking player.

So as always it comes down to money! Have we got any left? And if so will it be enough to allow us to buy the players with the kind of quality that will make a real difference.

It has been claimed that BS wants another four signings so it would appear there is still money there.
I sincerely hope so as if any remaining signings are made up from loans via an undignified scramble on deadline day it is unlikely they will be of a sufficient quality to make that difference!
Which would be a shame as the window started so well and it would be a shame if those good signings are negated later by loaned dross! COYI!

  2. Hi voted in your poll.. thanx for the oportunity.. Would like to add I think this has been one of the most exciting windows for many a year and hope it will lead to an even more eciting season COUI Love reading your pages

  3. Very good so far & a couple more in the right areas will be perfect, let’s just hope BFS plays them in a good attacking formation… Also plays them in their best positions

  4. I’d like to say that I’m excited by the new names but I honestly can’t. It seems to me that Zarate is signed as cover in case there’s the same problems as last year – reports that Carroll has come back from his holidays in an unfit state is worrying.

Cresswell and Poyet are young players from the Championship – you’d expect them to be one’s for the future and not immediate starters, especially the way that BFS has handled signings in the past.

Kouyate sounds like a definite starter and can cover in Defence as well as in Midfield – there’s genuine hope thst he can add solidity to the team.

Valencia is a gamble – you’ve seen guys perform well in World Cups but not kick on – fingers crossed for him and a hope that BFS uses him sensibly.

What’s missing is experienced cover at both full backs – urgently action required!

It’s good to see younger legs – lets hope that BFS has learnt something over the years and uses the new players sensibly!

  5. Pleased to see the ambition to sign forwards, hopefully to complement AC, and some young talented players. Just hope BFS actually plays them, and not just 10 minutes off the bench. Expect the old guard to keep their places.
