Poll: Where do you rate Fab among our best keepers?

Lukasz Fabianski’s horror injury is going to keep him out of action for a while and he will be so badly missed.
But we want to use this opportunity to ask the fans where they place him among the the best of our greats represented by Jim Standen , Phil Parkes  Ludek Mikloško,  Shaka Hislop  and Robert Green
Drag and drop the six names into the order of ranking where the top is your highest preference and the bottom is your lowest.

  1. Phil Parkes is the all time greatest Hammer Goalkeeper. His height gave him such presence, you always knew not to worry if the ball came in the box in the air that Phil would get to it. He was also good on the ground.
Ludo is a folklore hero with the crowd and given the long time with the Club made a few howlers. I remember a match v Everton & Big Dunc got the better of him at Upton Park
Fabianski is only second season but is proving a very capable keeper. Needs another couple of seasons to write his name in Hammers history.

  2. Surely got to include Mervyn Day on that list?

    • I remember Mervin sticking two fingers up at the North Bank when we told him to get “on his line” after he got chipped from distance a couple of times.
He was a good keeper but he never really reached his full potential. Bobby Ferguson was the better all round keeper imo.

  3. Never saw Jim Standen so can’t judge but I put Fab ahead of Parksie although it is a close thing, as an icon Parkes with his tache is a hands down winner. The game has changed so much but from what I have seen Fab’s all round game is right up there with anyone’s.

  4. Sorry Pop. Merv and Bobby were two average goalkeepers when compared to Fabianski.
