Jermain Defoe became a hate figure after handing in a transfer request less than 24 hours after the club were relegated to the Championship in 2003.
Frank Lampard move to Chelsea in 2001 was not welcomed by West Ham supporters who continued to give him stick for the rest of his career.
Diafra Sakho’s departure was forced through after he went to France for a medical without the club’s consent.
In more recent times Dimitri Payet went on strike to force his move back to Marseille on the cheap.

Arnautovic for me. Ince before my time, never really hated Defoe or Lampard just a casual dislike, Payet looks like a saint compared to Arnautovic now (They both went on strike, Marko just turned up for work)
Why is Sakho on there? I loved Sakho. Gutted that never worked out, I think he’s the best all round striker we’ve had in years. He was just bonkers.
At least Payet left for family and took a pay cut this family issues where his own creation.
Arnie shame bc 2018 was best year of his club career he was ranking along PL elite & def most consistent.
But him & his brother after all that he didn’t show up until the last 2 games probably just to show he still had it for move. But two transfer requests in 5 months & he gave the whole speech I decoded to stay bc the fans the badge etc blah blah.
And his brother is probably the biggest Villain
