Not as the squad stands. A great left back is key. A defensive midfielder is also important. If we sort out those two positions, I think we have every chance of finishing 7th.
I just worry that if haller were to get injured we’d only have chica who has not been prolific for us, and antonio who is not a recognised striker. I think we would be able to muddle through in the other positions.
Leftback is a worry to me also although Johnson looks like he could become a good prospect. He has done well when used hopefully he will progress. Defensive midfielder will most likely be used only for cover for Rice as Nobes can play there if needed I cant see Pelle using 2 in the same team to much that would blunt our attacking options which don’t seem to be his style of play.
I am optimistic that we will based purely on VAR alone, Pellegrini has turned us into a solid team in posession, with Wilshere and Fornals plus Haller we should also have the creativity which allied to the posession should mean we create more chances and hopefully take more, then with all the bad decisions we get every season compared to everyone else we are consistently in the bottom 2/3 for wrong decisions it gives me hope that we can take a step forward. As with the other opinions imho we are a few players short, keep Cullen around if we can’t get another CDM sell Sanchez he has been a liability in every game we have played but recruit at left back, possibly right back if the sidibe rumours are true and we need another reliable striker, either Llorente or Balotelli.
