The Hammers could never get a true grip on a game which determined Burnley saw thenm give the Irons a very ghard time for long periods.
This was a game we should have won with a degree of comfort but instead we made hard work of it throughout and which saw David Moyes moaning at the end that he wanted more than the eight minutes extra time.
Having been booed off at half time after a shocking and clueless performance,. the Hammers stepped up in the second period but the visitors slowed the game down as things progressed ad it looked very unlikely that we would take anything from the match.
But former Burnley striker Ings was the difference, scoring on the spin from a Kudus before thundering another shot against the bar.
Defensively we were awful with Mavropanos with Aguerd looking distinctly dodgy and with Kalvin Phillips and Ward-Prowse subbed at half time after failing to make any sort of impact.
Poor performance from a very tired looking team at times who now face a series of much tougher games.
