Portugese Winger Setback?

West Ham United‘s pursuit of Jota Silva is facing a potential setback, as the Portuguese winger’s departure from Vitoria Guimaraes appears inevitable this summer.

The Hammers have identified Silva as a potential target to bolster their attacking options, but the club’s reluctance to meet his €17 million release clause could hinder their chances of securing a deal.

Despite the financial implications, West Ham remain interested in the 24-year-old and are monitoring the situation closely. With Silva’s departure from Vitoria Guimaraes looking increasingly likely, the Hammers may have an opportunity to negotiate a more favourable fee.

As discussed in other posts, despite the arrival of Tim Steidten, many of the recruitment tactics have stayed the same at West Ham. They still look to prioritise the best value for money rather than the best overall player and to play the long game in order to get their man

While there are downsides to this approach, it can also be seen as financialy responsible, and more so in a window where money needs to be spent very wisely.

Needless to say, West Ham will face competition from other clubs for Silva’s signature, as the winger’s impressive performances have attracted attention from across Europe

Just reading The West Ham Way site from last night and this article is a copy and paste of one of their articles. Unless you write for them as well simon, can you try writing your own, fact based articles

  • My left foot says:

Are you reading 4 week old articles before you add your name to them simon? It was only reported last week on various sites, including this one, that we could sign silva for less than £10m. No story here just useless drivel

This used to be my ‘go to’ site to find the truth (or as close as you could get to it) about what was going on.

It is now, quite literally, the worst WH dedicated site, and worse than most of the general sites for actual content (based on what is going on – not click baiting and whinging). In the majority of ‘articles’ there is no story or actual content whatsoever. It’s like it’s been hijacked by 10-year olds.To the point where I think I’ll stop looking.

Guys – 1 decent article per week would be better than 20 of these. In fact zero articles per week would be better.

    A real shame.

He comes BS Simon with his first pointless article of the new week

Don’t be too harsh. Once he’s blown his dole money, the 50p per article Whetstone gives him comes in really handy.
