Peterborough United are ready to sell England under 20s skipper Ronnie Edwards to West Ham for £4 million up front plus £4 million in extras.

Posh’s Ronnie Edwards dubbed “the next Bobby Moore”

The young central defender is highly rated by the Posh who are ready to cash in on the 20 year old in January or next summer.

Posh turn down Hammers and Palace

They have already turned down one offer from the Hammers and another from Crystal Palace and we have learned the price of the extras include some seemingly very optimistic clauses.

Posh’s Edwards – extras revealed

The Posh would want cash were the player to help us into the Champions League and another on his first England appearance.

The Posh would also want a 20 per cent sell- on clause included as they are convinced the Hammers-supporting central defender will become an international for the Three Lions.

Edwards is very much a Hammers fan who was raised in Harlow and was described by his director of football to Claret and Hugh as ” the next Bobby Moore.”.

A Hammers source said: “We have scouted him and are not sure plus at just 6ft he is not the tallest for a central defender.”
