David Moyes has not officially made contact with West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal, contrary to incorrect reports.
The Hammers’ Czech right-back is out of contract at the end of this season and is understood to be a target for Everton. However, reports suggesting discussions over a pre-contract for Coufal are completely false because he is not allowed to sign one.
Pre-contract agreements can only be made with overseas clubs once a player reaches the final six months of their contract. Therefore, any official approach can’t have happened, but to think there has been no contact at all would be naïve.
David Moyes is believed to want to take West Ham’s Tomáš Souček and Coufal as part of his Toffees revolution next season. However, a deal for Coufal would be significantly easier than trying to buy Souček, who is in the first team and under contract.
The ironically named Ashley Young will be 40 years old before the start of next season, so at 32, Coufal is a mere whippersnapper by comparison.
The defender has been an excellent servant to West Ham since joining for a little under £5m from Slavia Prague in 2020. I’m quite certain Irons fans won’t begrudge one of the squad’s lowest-paid players the opportunity to bloat his bank balance with his old boss, Moyesie. In many respects, this no-brainer transfer could well be the easiest David Moyes has ever done.
See moyse is up to his usual thirty something players one thing was abundantly clear he buys mainly older players and doesn’t invest in youth glad to see a much better approach with youth players under potter
Yeah, he sold 18 years old Wayne Rooney to Man U, as I recall.
But gave him his debut at just turned 17th birthday I think
