Potential earlier return for Dec

Declan Rice is well on target in his bid to beat the target set for his return.

The 22 year old is suffering from a very small tear to the lateral collateral knee ligament in his right leg after receiving a kick during the international against Poland.

But he is currently well into his rehab with various photos appearing on his personal Instagram over the last few days.

He was also seen celebrating big style during the 3-2 win over  Leicester at the weekend and is determined to be back in the team earlier than expected.

Initially he looked set to return for the match against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on May 11 but we understand there’s a real chance he could make it for the game three days earlier against Everton at the London Stadium.

Meanwhile Angelo Ogbonna is expected to be available for the game against Newcastle at st James’ Park on Saturday lunchtime.

  1. Getting Roce & ogbonna back is massive in the bigger scheme of things . Both massive players for us. Will be an interesting few games Newcastle & Chelsea but with Ogbonna back our defence is immediately stronger. COYI ⚒
