Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the Lucas Paqueta situation within the last hour. The Italian Journalist has suggested that a potential Paqueta swap deal may be on the cards.
Manchester City and West Ham remain in talks over Paqueta, even though City’s initial £70m verbal offer was rejected. The Hammers would like to keep the Brazilan playmaker at The London Stadium, but are aware he’d like to talk to Pep Guardiola’s team.

Romano wrote: “Understand Manchester City and West Ham remain in contact to discuss Lucas Paquetá deal despite £70m verbal bid rejected. West Ham hope to keep the player but aware of Lucas desire to join City. Told including players in the deal could be an option to be discussed soon.”
Who the proposed ‘players’ could be remains to be seen, but it’s safe to assume Kalvin Phillips won’t be amongst them. There are some rumours suggesting Cole Palmer as a possible makeweight, although they are unconfirmed.
What is certain is Man City’s interest in the player. The Manchester club are aware of Paqueta’s £85 million buyout clause which activates in July 2024.
This most unwelcome transfer twist is a shattering blow to West Ham following the loss of Declan Rice. Considering our inability to identify Rice’s replacement with 24 months notice, it’s hard to assume that we’ll have a succession plan for Paqueta.
If players like scamacca and Lucas paqueta can’t show more loyalty to West Ham then get rid. Don’t want them at west ny thanks goodbye clear off.

Your loyalty towards Mr Moyes is admirable, and I daresay driven by your treatment of him at the end of his first spell, but your blindness to the reality of our circumstances damages not only our club, but your legacy.

Us fans are the mugs in this, its not Moyes fault or the Board. If you have a player that wants guaranteed Champions League football and they get tapped up that’s it off they go. My loyalty as a supporter is being severely tested. What’s the point of being a season ticket holder, its like buying a ticket in a lottery and same odds of minimum chance of winning!!
Forget the Moyes goes nowhere and make it Paqueta goes nowhere. Tell City the price is £170 million plus their best Striker. That should get rid of them.
