Potential striker target “may have already signed”

|

Torino’s chairman Urbano Cairo has confirmed that striker Andrea Belotti is likely to leave this summer and he has claimed that he “may have already signed with someone”.

The forward has a contract that expires in the summer and he is poised to leave the Serie A club at the end of the season.

Belotti has been with Torino since 2015 and has made 246 appearances for the club, scoring 110 goals, and remains a key member of the squad.

This season, he has scored five times in 18 games, with injury disrupting his campaign.

Now, reports in Italy claim that there is intense interest in signing him this summer, with the Hammers linked as a potential suitor along with French club OGC Nice and MLS team Toronto FC.

Cairo has resigned himself to the 28-year-old leaving this summer and he believes that there is every chance he has already put pen to paper elsewhere.

Quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb, he said: “Belotti expires. He may have already signed with someone. Let’s say that from February 1st he was free to sign, theoretically he could also have done so… Disappointed? I no longer talk about this issue.”
