Graham Potter’s summer plans are centred around the recruitment of a new striker or two and the creative shortfall in midfield that is plainly visible whilst the team are without the services of Lucas Paquetá.
Although the Hammers beat Leicester City without getting out of second gear, there is much to do for Potter and his recruitment team to address the squad deficiencies.
The last thing that West Ham will want to do is to surrender key players in the window: As Claret and Hugh wrote, Jean Clair-Todibo is starting to produce some of his better form and, however much the suggested Manchester United ‘flip’ might be on the cards, the Hammers have to find a way to keep him.

Todibo has impressed for West Ham – but the best is yet to come!
More suitors appear to have noticed Todibo’s return to form, however, making retaining him in the summer doubly difficult. A new report this morning links Inter Milan with a move for Todibo in the summer, thehardtackle.com claiming:
“Inter plot a move for Todibo: [who] has struggled with consistency, and if his form at West Ham continues on its current trajectory, Inter could seize the opportunity to sign him. They seek more quality at the back and consider him an ideal fit for their back-three setup.”
Again, echoing Gonzo’s earlier article, West Ham have to find a way to keep Todibo at London Stadium. We haven’t seen the best of the young man yet and he’s far and above the quality of any likely replacement available to the Hammers in the Summer.
What a load of bull why would we even consider that he’s showing his true worth under potter and would cost much more for a replacement of the same calibre
As far as I was aware, we were obligated to buy Todibo at the end of the season, so not sure how he could be stolen from us
We are but the term “Flip” meaning sell him & earn quick profit is more what they’re taking about…… innit bruv 👊 ⚒️
If the Hammers want to move forward keeping players like this is a must. He hasn’t struggled for form just had injuries and a problem with the last manager, but then who didn’t. He is playing now with a smile on his face and playing well so it’s either £150 million plus to those wishing to buy or go away and find someone else.
Want loyalty get a dog, I know the idiom, however Todibo owes us. The club have been patient with him this season (just write off the Lopetegui months, as we should with anyone who had ‘issues’ at the time) and he now seems to have the measure of the league, which he didn’t when he arrived, whether fitness, chaosball or a combination.
Manure can do one unless the price is twice what we paid, pointless to have done the legwork on him and get no reward. Plus CBs are sorted with him and Kilman (Aguerd if he comes back as a 3).
Move on, there are other more pressing requirements, defence is one area we DO seem to have covered.
