Graham Potter is expected to dive straight into his new role as West Hamās manager, taking training at Rush Green tomorrow morning.
With outgoing boss Julen Lopeteguiās departure expected to be announced imminently, Potter has already headed to the London Stadium to complete media duties, as reported by Claret and Hugh within the past hour.
Weāve since learned that Potter was eager during negotiations to ensure heād be in the dugout for West Hamās FA Cup clash against Aston Villa.
Reports suggest the former Brighton boss is ākeen as mustardā to hit the ground running and establish himself with his new squad. Ideally, Potter would have preferred more than one training session before such a crucial game, but protracted negotiations caused delays.
Now that the contract is signed, sealed, and deliveredāas we reported earlier this morningāPotter and his team are ready to take charge of West Ham with immediate effect.
So as he is to have one training session, what will he do? Attack are getting chances so Iāll just throw them a bag of balls and a barndoor in a breeze and get them to practice hitting it. Midfield Iād give to Noble – he wasnāt the fastest at all, but he was gutsy and aware and showed the sort of leadership lacking in half of those players. The goalies have had plenty of practice stopping shots so they are fine. They donāt need a coach to get any balls kicked at them because theyāve been used to picking balls up out of the net in the last 12 months. Which brings up the serious point – Potter needs to spend all of Thursday with the defence. As long as we arenāt as leaky as we have been it will be progress. And please donāt let Dhuran score just to run it into us.
I was never fan of Potter and I think Fonseca would be a better choice. I also think the performance against City was not as bad as the result. Anyway I hope Potter will hit the ground running.
Letās hope itās true, would be good to see him in the dugout for the Villa game.
Am looking forward to seeing an uplift in the players moods and playing style.
Would also like to see Scarles and Orford brought in, our academy team have been overlooked despite over performing for years.
COYi!!!
Now we have a chance of progressing in the cup. Canāt wait for Friday evening as Iām sure we will see the team putting in the effort
Begs the question of why did we not go for Potter in the Summer in the first place?
Because the majority share holder is a complete idiot and his decision making when it comes to manger’s and player’s is always wrong and lead’s to disaster’s and losses, without exception!
Thank Christ for that, it’s absolutely minimal preparation but at least it’s some preparation. I had visions of Keen and Robson in charge.
A come in from the cold for the players whose noses were put out of joint.
Villa are on some sort of 150th anniversary bender, one off kit for the night so they’ll be on a high is all we need, but for the first time in a long while it feels that Potter is no mug so we have some chance.
