Powell thrilled with Poyet capture

|

Ipswich Town v West Ham United - Pre Season FriendlyHuddersfield boss Chris Powell is delighted to have captured his Charlton old boy Diego Poyet on loan .

Explaining his move for the midfielder he said: “I have kept my eye on Diego, obviously I know him well from Charlton,”

Poyet was in the team which lost to Fulham at the weekend but Powell is quoted in London24.com as saying: “He wasn’t involved in any of the preparation going into the game.

“Now we have time to get him used to being with us over the international break, used to training and the area and hopefully we will see a player who will add quality to us, who is very composed on the ball.

“He will make us a better team for sure.

“I gave him his debut in the cup at the turn of the year, and within six months he was Player of the Year at Charlton and then got his move to West Ham.

“There is a quality player there and it is really good for us that West Ham have allowed him to come to us for an initial 28 days, and we will see from there.

“The busy December and Christmas period is coming up where you can’t bring players in so it is important to get the squad right.”
