Some Premier League clubs are offering the chance for supporters to pay to have a cardboard cut-out in the stadium when football resumes.
The idea has already been executed in the Bundesliga. Brighton are one of several clubs offering the chances for fans to have cut-outs of themselves or family members at matches.
CEO Paul Barber revealed many have chosen to have pictures of relatives who have died.
“We have had quite a few people where, for example, their father had been a Brighton supporter but had not had the chance to go to the Amex Stadium before he died, and is now going to have a cut-out of him there,” he told The Times.
The Seagulls are charging fans £20 per cutout with money going to charity. They have already had 1,000 orders ahead of their match with Arsenal next Saturday.
Top flight clubs will also have wrap around each stadium’s lower tiers, the use of music at key moments, and a designated ‘celebration cam’ for players to share their goalscoring exploits. West Ham will have a fan mosiac in the Billy Bonds East stand at the London Stadium on Saturday.
Many Premier League clubs will give their supporters the chance to appear on a live video fan wall that will be streamed into stadiums as part of the top-flight restart this week.
The live video feeds based on Zoom will feature 16 supporters from each club, will be made available to broadcasters and to clubs for use on big screens during matches.
Spurs and Burnley have also announced their live fan video walls.
I wonder if that offer is available to the team ? although thinking about it, a cardboard cutout might be an improvement in certain cases ! 😂😂
