Premier League wage poll result revealed

Over 47% of Claret and Hugh readers polled believe Premier League players should take a 50% cut in wages while football is suspended.

A further 18% say it should be a 75% cut while another 9% say 100% wage cut is the right thing to do.

Another 9% believe a 20% cut is a fairer outcome while 8% believe they should have their wages deferred during the suspension of fixtures.

Surprising 5% of nearly 1,000 polled say the footballers should continue to receive their full amount and their contracts should be honoured.

The remaining 4% of voters believe the wages should be cut by 30%

A report by Sky Sports News claims Chairman of Premier League’s 20 clubs will push to agree to a blanket reduction in players’ salaries of up to 25% today.

Under one proposal expected to be discussed, the money would be refunded to players in full if the season is completed in front of crowds, with a smaller rebate in the event that the remaining fixtures had to be played behind closed doors.

  1. To put it into the real world most premier league footballers earn more in 1 month than most of the NHS workers really earn (they do a proper job) in 1 year. Makes you think how unfair the world is!
