West Ham have been offered a glimmer of hope in their pursuit of Ardon Jashari – the midfielder widely believed to be Graham Potter’s top summer midfield target.
The Hammers have been quietly tracking the 22-year-old Swiss star throughout the window, and now find themselves back in the picture following a dramatic transfer row between Club Brugge and AC Milan.
Brugge bosses accused the Serie A giants of dragging their heels, claiming Milan had “fumbled” the chance to land Jashari. But Milan president Paolo Scaroni hit back, admitting they’re struggling to afford the player – despite Jashari desperately wanting the move. “We don’t want to offer too much,” Scaroni said bluntly.
Milan have now tabled an improved €33.5m bid, with an extra €4.5m in add-ons, but it still falls short of Brugge’s €40m valuation. With Milan declaring this their “final offer,” the deal teeters on a knife edge.
Jashari is said to have already agreed personal terms with Milan, but Brugge remain unmoved – and that’s where West Ham come in.
The Irons are reportedly “primed to take advantage” if the deal collapses, with Potter still desperate to bolster midfield options. Brugge are expected to respond in the coming days, but if talks stall, don’t be surprised if Macaulay and Potter swoop in.
Just get this player anyway. The boys mustard for a 22 year old. Pro League Player of the Year and Young Player of the year last season.
And you’re suggesting Sullivan is about to cough up £40m? Don’t make me laugh!
Whilst he looks like a great option, I think I would rather we focussed on people who actually WANT to come to West Ham… You know he doesn’t – that he favours Milan, so why even suggest that this is a possibility?
AC Milan have just arrived here in Perth, Australia for their game against Perth Glory on Thursday evening. Maybe they will be distracted for a while which might allow the Hammers to step in with a sneaky offer to Club Brugge for Ardon Jashari? Although who knows where the money will come from.
Ardon Jashari could be the next Rodri, seriously good and Champions League standard if only we’d not wasted millions on a succession of poor recruit’s. I suspect his value could easily double as with so many players we’ve looked at in the past and then not made any offer’s on. Would be a sound investment but sadly, way too expensive.
I would be very surprised! 🤣🤣
Get real boys. Sully ain’t forking out upwards of €40m for anybody
