West Ham are bracing themselves for what could be a huge €130 million double transfer raid from Paris Saint-Germain if reports emerging from France are to be believed.

This morning, Foot Mercato are reporting that the European champions are not only pursuing Hammers midfielder Mateus Fernandes but also winger Crysencio Summerville.

Fernandes has been linked with a move to the French capital for some months now, but the inclusion of Summerville is sure to raise a few eyebrows.

PSG Add Summerville To Their Wishlist

Foot Mercato said of the Dutch winger:

“He’s an energetic player with an explosive style, the spectacular Summerville is capable of making a real difference in one-on-one situations.

“He was on Stade Rennais’ shortlist a few years ago.

“West Ham’s asking price of around €50 million has deterred more than one suitor. Here again, preliminary discussions have already taken place between the key figure in Parisian transfer dealings and the English club.”

Whether any discussions have actually taken place with West Ham is open to debate.

At present, it is not entirely clear who would even be conducting transfer negotiations on behalf of the club following the recent upheaval behind the scenes.

Fernandes Interest Continues To Grow

What we do know is that Fernandes’ agent Jorge Mendes has been speaking with a number of interested clubs regarding his client.

Manchester United and Real Madrid have both been credited with interest, while PSG continue to be heavily linked.

It’s also worth remembering that Mendes is the agent of Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho, further fuelling speculation over Fernandes’ next destination.

The Portuguese midfielder remains one of the most sought-after young players in Europe and, despite West Ham’s public stance on his valuation, there is a growing acceptance that he will leave the club this summer.

A Summer Of Difficult Decisions

As for Summerville, his inclusion in the report feels more surprising.

The winger’s Netherlands debut this week only increased his profile and there is already significant interest from Italy, with Roma, AC Milan and Napoli all linked.

Whether PSG genuinely intend to pursue both players remains to be seen.

What is beyond doubt is that West Ham are facing a summer where keeping hold of their best talent is becoming increasingly difficult despite Kretinsky’s pledge to keep ‘key players’.

Fernandes is young, consistent and seems likely to be a really top level player so you can understand the interest and a few clubs competing may get the price up.
I don’t think the same is true for Summerville – he’s a very frustrating player with so little end product. He’s got the energy and movement but he was only ever impactful for a few weeks this year before he got injured again. PSG could get anyone, I can’t see he’s going there – infact we will be lucky to get the money we paid for him.

Hardly good money when you think you have to replace the Players. I would ask.
“Oh is that for one of the Players legs ?

At a €150 m for the pair, I say, deal.

Pounds not € plus sell on clause.
Seems extravagant to lose both of them but goes along way to clearing debt.
Sacrificial lambs could be the term.
Could mean keeping rest of team together which would go along way to getting back in premier league.
Kretinsky needs to decide what he’s going to do financially as there’s continued speculation players won’t be sold.
London stadium must take a back seat whilst squad building is priority.
