Stuart Pearce has revealed the secret behind the Hammers astonishing success this season and it’s all pretty simple.
The boss and backroom staff have instilled the sort of spirit, determination and ‘go for it’ mentality few fans will be able to remember over recent years.
It has created a bond within the squad which is carrid onto the pitch and resulted in a series of brilliant results showing the game is played as much between the ears as anywhere elses
It’s one of the old sayings in the world but it is entirely true of the squad, manager and his support staff that the harder you work, the luckier you get.
Psycho has been discussing the season after we escaped from relegation, the recruitment put in place, and work ethic to which the squad are expected to observe on a daily basis.
He said: “We’ve been punching above our weight this season, we had the potential of a relegation threat last year, and the recruitment has been very good by David,” Pearce admitted.
“The togetherness has got us over the line on occasions when you thought we didn’t deserve to win this games, but somehow they’ve found a way and that tells you a great deal about the players.”
The former Manchester City manager was full of praise for not only Moyes but the entire squad especially given they only have a small squad.
I think Stuart Pearce is being modest. Part of David Moyes’s success has been to ‘get the band back together again’. His back room team were influential first time around and it’s evident that the players have responded brilliantly to the wealth of experience that Moyes and his assistants bring to the table. I could never understand the ‘dinosaur’ label that some gave Moyes. Brilliant job by players and staff since he came back. Very proud of the Hammers to give us all so much hope and pleasure over these difficult months. I said before Christmas on here that this season could be the start of an exciting era under Moyes for our great club and wherever we end up in the table this year it’s a big thank you to David, his staff and all the players. More of the same next year, I hope – all Hammers everywhere deserve it. COYI.
Ditto Daze. Well said and couldn’t agree more.
