Pundit reckons Irons had tactics ‘hump’ after defeat

|

Ian Wright reckons Michail Antonio had the hump at the end of an Old Trafford 90 minutes.

Forced to play one up for the game in what has been widely criticised as a defensive formation the former Arsenal striker noticed some annoyed body language from him and other players following the 1-0 defeat,

Antonio has explained his personal disappointment at the result following the game but Wright reckons there was more to it than the normal platitudes from players

He was speaking with the Wrighty’s House podcast and declared that Mikey seemed annoyed at the tactics Hammers boss David Moyes had used for the game.

What has been seen widely as a single point from the Moyes mindset seemed a problem for others in the squad according to the Match of the Day pundit who was pretty outspoken when giving his assessment of a defeat which brought plenty of criticism from the fans.

He said: ““You could tell when the players are not happy with the system that they’re meant to play. You could see it in their body language. You could see it in Michail Antonio, all of sudden he’s playing wide on the right having to stop Luke Shaw. What for?

“He’s having one of those seasons when there’s not really a defence in the league who likes playing against him. So why would you take him out of the firing line when he’s playing against Lindelof and Maguire? They can’t stop him once he gets into his flow.”

Certainly agree with Wrightys comments about mcguire !

  • It would have been good to see us go toe -to-toe with Man Utd. Losing 3-0 was no different to 1-0. When we played outside their penalty area, we gave them a challenge. But only for 20 minutes of the match.
We were winning matches when Fornals and Bowen were given free licence to play anywhere across the front line. Sadly, I haven’t seen that lately.
