Qatarstrophe can ruin last Premier League games

ClaretandHugh says

The Qatarstrophe is set to begin later this month and there is just one more Premier League game to go before the tournament starts.

England are taking Declan Rice, for example, while Alphonse Areola is likely to go with France, and the likes of Thilo Kehrer and Nayef Aguerd are also poised for call-ups.

Every Premier League club, by their very nature, has plenty of international players and that spells disaster for his weekend’s clashes.

On the day that we’ve seen Reece James ruled out of the tournament with an injury, there is going to be real paranoia around picking up a strain, or a tweak, or a twist this weekend.

And that leads to one thing: Boring, walking football.

The Hammers go into this weekend’s game in a brutal run of form and need to beat Leicester to steady the ship.

But don’t expect anything like a game of high quality; this is going to be a game where players pull out of challenges, and baulk at 50/50s because they fancy going to win a big gold trophy in a tournament that has been permanently stained with the blood of migrant workers and human rights ignorance.

What a shame.

  1. I agree with you. i cannot wait to get the World Cup over with. I find International Football a real yawn these days. I would like to cut down the amount of competitions England take part in.

The Premiership will be devalued after, with Players out through illnesses and injuries picked up in the Word Cup. Chances are they are going to be tired at best and we will have false results happening as a result.

Say no to the European Championship and Cup of Nations next Season and let’s just have a proper Premier League, unmolested or delayed. Result would be a good class of fast moving Football.

  2. Absolute rubbish, no manager will allow that to happen. If they see a player not giving 100% then surely they would be subbed
