Ratings 2 from Blades v Irons

By Niall McDonald

Fabianski: Some comfortable but important saves before the break 6
Coufal: Another high-quality performance; nearly on the scoresheet on one of his regular attacking forays 7
Ogbonna: Extremely comfortable afternoon, looking better and better with each passing game 7
Balbuena: Conceded a few chances to McBurnie before the interval, otherwise did the basics very well 6
Cresswell: Left Masuaku to do most of the attacking today, concentrating on set pieces 6
Masuaku: Under pressure from a well-advanced Baldock at the start but given more time and space to attack as we took hold of the game 6
Rice: A captain’s performance – especially late on as he drove forward in attack and broke up the play in defence 8
Soucek: Really bad miss from a few yards out and put a header over from a corner; dominated the midfield with Rice 6
Fornals: No complaints with his efforts today as usual, subbed on 75 mins 6
Bowen: Didn’t have his shooting boots on today, taking a few too many touches when close to goal 6
Haller: Looked quite mobile in the first-half, with some lovely lay-offs. His brutal 20-yard shot caught everyone by surprise. Even made a tackle with 10 mins left!!! More pleaseĀ  7

Subs
Lanzini: Scurried around in the last 15 mins 5
Noble: On in stoppage-time to see out the win. Found time to win a cornerĀ  No rating

  1. More reasonable rating. I was relaxed until they put Lanzini on. Fornals will occasionally resort to the foot tackles (twice today) of old, but works so hard and is a pest.
    Team win.
