Ratings 2: Irons v Manchester United

Macca hands out his marks

Areola: Not entirely comfortable but not many Hammers keepers come away from Old Trafford with a clean sheet! 7
Fredericks: Very unfortunate to pick up an injury in setting up the goal. Showed real pace and awareness to pull it back for Lanzini 7
Diop: Defended superbly with Dawson – not a bad 2nd-string partnership! 8
Dawson: A typically towering display – cleared everything thrown at him 9
Johnson: Did really well I thought – adapted to the switch from back three to back four without issue 8
Kral: Decent debut. Plenty of energy, gave the ball away a few times but let’s see how he responds to Moyes’ coaching 7
Noble: Fair play, a strong performance after Sunday’s cameo. Blew a chance for a famous goal near the end 8
Masuaku: This was a textbook Masuaku display 7
Lanzini: Joined his compatriot Carlos Tevez with a famous winner at Old Trafford 7
Yarmolenko: Classic Yarmo tonight. Worked well with Bowen, kept opponents and teammates guessing 7
Bowen: An absolutely immense shift tonight. Chased down every ball he could 8

Subs
Coufal: Would have been champing at the bit to play anyway and got stuck right in as always 8
Fornals: Great to have genuine first teamers on the bench to see out these games 7
Vlasic: Much needed energy off the bench – played a brilliantly optimistic through ball in for Bowen on 88 mins which he just couldn’t run on to 7
