Ray Stewart: Hard to take but Irons a quality team

|

Disappointed?

You bet I’m disappointed but I’ll tell you what – I’d have taken that result before the game and let me ask a question: How many of that Arsenal team would get into ours?

3-0 up to a 3-3 draw is bitter but when an  Arsenal goal comes from a really unfortunate  deflection, 3-1 is always gonna be dodgy.

There are two teams on the pitch and make no mistake Arsenal are a very good team indeed and showed it. They should be given some credit

But let’s remember how well the Irons played in that first 30 minutes and what thy have to do now is go on and make a real statement in the next three games which I believe is exactly what they will do against Wolves, Leicester and Newcastle.

Having done so we will again go into the Chelsea game with massive confidence. Everything is still possible.

The manager clearly left him on the pitch for most of the game to build his confidence and his near assist for Antonio was superb.

He needs a run of game, the goals will come but in the meantime I’m happy with what I’m seeing.

Jesse Lingard is clearly a must have player this summer. The boy was brilliant in that opening spell and he’s clearly a joker and happy go lucky lad very good for the dressing room.

We may be punching above our weight this season but it’s a  sign of things to come and I believe we are very much a quality side.

The players will have been blowing their tops in the dressing room after yesterday’s game but for a long while they have a terrific performance and it’s that we should be remembering.

Hughie has mentioned that amazing Declan Rice run in a piece he has written this morning and I agree with all he says.

He shows his amazing love and spirit for this club and as captain that will filter down to everybody.

Disappointed yes! But excited and ready for a win at Molineux.
