Reality check for Irons ‘window’ critics

|

So as is always the case with West Ham it’s all going off at the end of the transfer window.

There’s a reason for that – agents want their wedge from deals and with time running out are more likely to  do business than earlier in the window.

It’s a situation with which most should have become familiar but the frustration, anxiety and downright anger in some cases continues from year to year.

This time around a certain mob going under the name of PAI Capital and their supporters may have become a little despondent that with Zouma now on board it looks likely one – or possibly two more – will have joined the squad before they apparently plan a second bid.

We’ll soon find out if that’s serious! Not very I suggest!

It wouldn’t be overly cynical to claim that once again they may have hoped to play to the protestors gallery by saying: “There you go – no signings!”

The reality of the situation was always the same: Moyes knew who he wanted most and the board provided the cash to get him – by this time tomorrow they may have supplied almost double on two more which is what  CandH claimed was available  when the window opened.

Forums are of course fun by and large but very often a big number of those expressing views get it wrong, I was among them in claiming Moyes needed a striker.

So what do I and the rest know – not a lot.

Moyes is going in a completely different direction with attacking midfielders by the looks of things.

Hopefully when January and next summer comes around the critics will have learned a little more about what and what not to expect – the first thing being to wait and see

Humble pie time for many as expectations are defied by the board and manager!

This site was my go to for all westham news but recently you can feel a change, it’s gone from really good updates to just protecting the owners, I get you are friends with them and you need them on side to get the updates but now nearly every post seems to have an agenda, hoping if we get bought or if PAI back down and things go back to normal, your articles will go back to the quality they once was.

    • What a strange point of view. We do about 15 articles a day – are first with many nnd a proposed takeover by anybody is relatively big news so we cover it but there have been no more than half a dozen or eight over three weeks when around 210- to 250 articles have been published. That ot is a poor bid is agreed by most including us…nothing to do with siding with anybody. Every article has an agenda – nope. Read them.

Strange how so many new posters have appeared since the PAI proposal. Almost all criticising GSB and recommending acceptance of the bid.

I don’t remember recommending accepting PAI’s bid? And this account is alot older than PAI’s westham timeline (am sure Hugh can verify) this was a post longingly wishing for the old days where hugh didn’t feel he had to fight for the board …… If they sign another player or two them it’s a successful window for them. I still believe they will sell once the stadium clause ends and not a day sooner.

I was talking in general. It’s not all about you. I have no doubt they will sell then, it doesn’t make any sense to sell before.
