Lee Carsley’s last stint in charge of England involves two UEFA Nations League group B games against Greece in Athens on Thursday 14th, followed by a home match against Republic of Ireland at Wembley on Sunday November 17th.
West Ham released confirmation last night that captain Jarrod Bowen has been recalled to Carsley’s England – surely admitting his mistake last time around when both Harry and and Bukayo Saka were injured and – no Bowen.
The 27-year-old Hammers winger has earned 12 senior caps since making his debut in a Nations League tie in Hungary in June 2022, and will hope to score his first goal for his country this week. His recall of course sets up a tasty encounter with fellow Hammer Konstantinos Mavropanos who performed so well in the Wembley fixture against England which the Greek side won comfortably.
Hopefully Bowen will get to impact the game and help England to the two wins required to win the group after last month’s disappointing results.
Greece V England -Athens-Thursday 11 November 7.45 pm (GMT)
England V Republic of Ireland –Wembley-Sunday 14 November 5.00 pm (GMT)
Go Bo! At least it will give him a break from the turmoil in our club for a little while. Hopefully he will enjoy playing without so much stress and play his heart out!
