Red Card Escape Thanks To West Ham’s Unlikely Peacemaker

An edgy London Stadium encounter resulted in a West Ham victory after an emotionally draining week for Hammers’ captain Jarrod Bowen. Having been called upon to act with maturity off the pitch with Michail Antonio’s dreadful accident and Lopetegui’s teetering on the edge of the abyss, West Ham’s skipper delivered a man of the match performance and scored a classic Bowen special to deliver his under-fire coach the victory.

Bowen’s judo match with Mario Lemina after the final whistle has drawn different opinions from different sources. Goal.com see the Wolves captain to blame with their take on it: “Jarrod Bowen dragged to the ground by Mario Lemina in FURIOUS scuffle”: Whilst former referee Keith Hackett in West Ham Zone ‘s exclusive suggests “ Jarrod Bowen could have been sent off for West Ham v Wolves, FA to review”.

The clear irony, however of Jean-Clair Todibo acting as a big-time peacemaker, repeatedly calming and walking away with an arm around Mario Lemina to try and diffuse the player’s fury – was not lost on me after the alleged fisticuffs with his own head coach that resulted in him being banished to train with the U21s!

Is this a sign that Todibo is trying to exhibit a maturity to get himself re-integrated in the squad’s good books, or just an instinctive reaction of a professional? Whichever, It was good to see a bit of ‘leadership’ amongst the meleé.

Hopefully, both Bowen and Lemina will ‘escape’ with the yellow cards that were shown on the night. I’m not sure whether West Ham will be advised if the referee submits a ‘special incident report” – we will have to ask the club and see if, and what, they hear from the FA.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

To be fair, I’ve read excellent analysis on Hammers News over the years from Damien Charles Lucas. Look for the name (and no, we’re not mates)…Like Gonzo, the guy know his stuff 😉

…i don’t read him anymore because he never tells us anything. he’s a fan with a fan page and no insider knowledge. nice guy, i’m sure, but nothing i don’t see everywhere else.

Well, it’s nearly a week since we had a player on a red card ban, so why are they dilly-dallying?

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Yet the click bait site that is Hammers News takes a different approach – suggesting that Todibo was somehow in the wrong for it!! Bizarre how people can interpret things so differently. Whatever it says about Todibo, the HN article (which I usually avoid) says more about them…

HN normally spread the same garbage as all the other top sources, ITK’s and quoting ex coaches aligned to Moyes.

      It’s all lies!

Yep, I have read that, couldn’t agree with their ‘take’ tbh.

Really strange last night, it felt like all the passion and all the energy has been zapped out of everyone fans and players, felt really flat, and tbh the fans i think they cant be arsed with it all anymore..
Sullivan has made such a poor appointment with this plonker, who i must say looks a complete mess on the side-lines, ( for god sake man smarten ya self up!!) and is clear he has lost the dressing room as the player look at him like an idiot, which to be fair you can understand. Sully and Jlo go off the hook last night due to Mickey, more fans turned up to support this hammers legend, than to watch the dross shaky performance. Its a shame as I feel we have gone backwards in such a short time. Hey ho, merry christmas!

      Dear Santa,

I’ve been really good this year unlike West Ham.

Please can I have a new chairman and coach.

Love you Santa from a Season Ticket Holder

They know each other from France youth teams, you dumb-dumb. Another pathetic attempt at trying to make a story and fill space.
This site is all that makes West Ham look a circus.
