Red cards could decide Spurs game

|

during the Barclays Premier League match between West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur at Boleyn Ground on May 3, 2014 in London, England.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Charlie Nicholas has predicted things could boil over on the pitch with a high chance of a player being sent off.

Nicholas told Sky: “West Ham would love nothing more than to dent Tottenham’s title aspirations and they will be greeted by a really aggressive atmosphere in East London.

“Their players thrive on these big games, as they have shown with victories at Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool, and then again when Chelsea came to visit.

“These are the types of matches where you really need to compete physically and while Pochettino’s side have shown they can do that, I still worry about them in the final 15 to 20 minutes of games.

“I’m expecting a lot of tension and plenty of goals and I wouldn’t be surprised to see things boil over and somebody being sent off.”

The statistics agree with Charlie, there have been three red cards in the last two encounters at the Boleyn Ground.

James Collins saw red after a 2nd booking in the 63rd minute in August 2014 during a 1-0 defeat for the Hammers. Kyle Naughton had already been sent off for Spurs in the 29th minute.

Younes Kaboul was sent off in May 2014 during a two-nil win by the Hammers. He received a straight red on the 25th minute, with four other Spurs players picking up yellows.

Plus I think Marriner is the ref. He’s been our harshest ref this season.

Nine versus nine ,, great . As long as we win I couldn’t give monkeys.
Spurs will be nervous going into tonight’s game . The Bolyn ground can be very intimidating
When the fans are bouncing , and we all know it will be tonight .
There really isn’t a lot separating the two teams , so , home advantage with the support we have should win it . Both teams are capable of turning up for this one and it all depends on which team takes the initial incentive . Tottenham are sure to come out of the gates fast but that will only last 15 mins . West Ham will get on top eventually and bag the points .
    Come on you Hammers .

This is , basically , our tilt at Europe . It is actually a must win game , although nobody has said it in actuality .
Who else sees it the way I do ?? . A must win ( not lose ) game .
The FA Cup is a great thing to still be in . Against Man Utd at Old Trafford will be electric .
But we can qualify on two fronts with a win tonight .. The fans know it , Bilic knows it and the team knows it . .
Come on you Hammers … Slaven Bilics Claret & Blue Army .
